BISDN joins P4 consortium

May 28, 2018

BISDN announced that it has joined the P4 Language Consortium. P4 is a protocol-independent programming language specifically designed for programming switches. Its objective is to make the entire network stack completely programmable – making networks flexible and substantially cutting OpEx. Developed by the P4 Language Consortium, P4 has recently been picked up by various projects and vendors.

Since we at BISDN have long used OpenFlow, and are still convinced of many of its benefits, we are watching P4 closely and see where we can use it for the best of our products and customers.
