Testing, integration and operations, with the people who build the stack.
We support network operators in the transition from DSL and cable to fibre. The copper connection remains until the fibre connection is activated. The technology behind it moves from a closed system to a modular architecture on commodity hardware.
Testing and integration
We support network operators in the transition from DSL and cable to fibre. For the technology, this means moving from a closed system to a modular architecture on standard switches and commodity servers. We write the software for it ourselves, in Berlin.
We work with GitOps and Infrastructure as Code. Every configuration is stored in a repository, every change can be traced, and deployment is automated and repeatable.
BISDN is a member of the Linux Foundation and maintains LF Broadband’s community testbed on its behalf. We have been developing BISDN Linux, our operating system for whitebox switches, since 2014; it is available on GitHub under open source licences.
At the Broadband Forum, we contribute to the standards on which our products are built: TR-383 and TR-385 for PON, and TR-459 for the BNG.
